stream stalker
I do alot of tinkering with tackle. I make alot of my own jig heads and also dabble in painting hardbaits. I am sure that most of you know this, but paint pens really work wonders. You can pick them up just about anywhere and when it comes to painting eyes on jigheads or lines on hardbaits, they do a great job. Anyone who does painting work and has not utilized a paint pen, might want to give it a try.
Ogajiga
John, excuse my ignorance, but is a paint pen the same as a "magic marker"? If not, what kind of paint is it and is it compatible with epoxy? Can you suggest a good brand either way?
LedHed
For markers - Sharpie works really well.
smalljaw
I believe he's refering to paint markers like the quick coat lure markers, these aren't ink like a sharpie but actual paint. You shake them like a rattle can of paint and the tip is valve operated in which you push the tip down to start the flow of paint. The paint is quick drying and after 2 minutes you can coat with epoxy without any problems.

stream stalker
Elmer's paint pens seem to work great. I buy them at Wal Mart

Stream Stalker & BLT Are the Elmer's or CS pens enamel or acrylic? I picked mine up a Cabela's. I haven't used them yet. Come with like 6 tips for it. Say's they are good for 75 cast before wear, or clear coat them to make them last longer. BLT
I picked mine up a Cabela's. I haven't used them yet. Come with like 6 tips for it.Say's they are good for 75 cast before wear, or clear coat them to make them last longer. Cabela's -- Quick-Coat Markers Forgot about a review for this product. I would not buy them again, and have stopped using them. Followed instructions, shook well and used on close to 100 jigs for a test. Was using 1/8 and 1/4 oz. bullet nose jigs to rig up for tandem rigs. After baking powder paint, I painted on the eyes, and left them go for a day. Tried to rig them up the next day and the paint smeared on the jig. Waited another day, same results. Put some in the toaster oven to bake them again hoping to harden the paint a little better, same results. I am not going to clear coat over them, so that test is out for me. I'll stick to using my other paints with cut off round toothpicks, q-tips and pencil erasers for the eyes. It's a shame to, because you could really crank them out with that pen.
