jrhopkins
have had some inquiries on how to do the fins with fibetts. here are some talapia baits showing the way i do it. top lure is after they are epoxied into the lure second is showing them cut to the rough outline. bottom is after the tape is removed and the final trim is done. haven't got the pec fins in yet but you can see where the slot is cut for them ( look close:wink:) leave enough tag end on the fibetts to epoxy them into the lure without getting epoxy on the tape. you won't get the tape off if you epoxy it to the lure:cry:, i know from experience. Btw thanks for always sharing your secrets....your work and informational posts were the reason I personally started making swimbaits. I know I know getting all sappy over here. diemai
@ jrhopkins I am also fooling around with some ideas of making my own swimbaits one day , also already read about this " tape thing" to glue in those fibre fins(on a German site) , but up to now I have always thought , that a small stripe of tape would be glued INTO the lurebody together with the fibres . Now you show the right way , thanks a lot for that little lesson and input:worship: ! Great to share:wink: ! Greetz , diemai
