chaos105
Ok after a lot of reading I got all the parts and built one. The only problem I had was the plastic gets to hard inside the valve. How are you guys getting this to work? Heat gun? Thanks for all the info, and help.
RipLip
My initial thought is that you are not letting everything get hot enough before pouring. If you installed the copper ball valve, that will heat up nicely and everything will pour fine. You can even add attachments for a smaller pouring spout if you need too. Sometimes on the start of a pour you might have to send a long skinny piece of wire(without insulation) down the spout to get the initial glob out of there but after that it should be fine. Make sure you are getting it over 300 degrees before pouring. I like to flutter between 315 - 330 depending on the apllication. Hope this helps some. Good luck

I use a mini torch and fire it on the valve and within a few seconds it will start to drip and I just let it flow until its a good stream and then I close the valve. The more you pour the less problem you will have because hot plastic will always be flowing through it. If it gets real bad I turn off the mixer and open the valve and shove a piece of clothes hanger up in there and try to clean it out. WEAR GLOVES when doing this!!!! I did this when I first made the pot and hot plastic ran all over my fingers. Good luck.
JSC
Heat Gun Works as well. After use I like to Clean the Valve and Nozzele of all left over plastic. Carolina Mike posted the URL for a "Heat Wrap" for the fixture. JSC
