blkcloud
What color do you use for a threadfin shad? I'll be pouring swimbaits. also what hardness of plastic do you recommend for the swimbaits? I'm buying it from delmart.thanks!
longhorn
The color I use for shad is violet hi-lite/silver pearl (both powder) mix for the back and blue hi-lite powder and .015 silver glitter for the belly. I prefer the softest plastic for my swim baits.
reefaddiction
Here is a real threadfin shad I just googled it.
nova
Going by the picture I would use LC motoroil, 2 drops to start, for the back and white pearl with a very very little touch of blue highlite. www.novalures.com
BassConvert
I agree with longhorn...the back is a violet/silver...here's a pic of what BassTrix calls their Thread Fin Shad...its much more 'purple' than what this pic shows...
MDC
I agree with longhorn too. A live threadfin will have a black or dark smoke back with a purple tint.
BigBassBo
It looks to me to be more of a tennessee shad sorta color. More tanish or gold than purple. http://www.bio.txstate.edu/~tbonner/txfishes/THREADFIN%20SHAD.jpg Edited June 20, 2008 by Spike-A-Pike Shouldn't post copyrighted materials from outside sites.
