Pic of my friend and myself's first pour!

Recommended Posts

Here is a pic of the the first two pours that my friend and I have ever done. The first one was his so-called version of motor-oil w/ red flake and the second color was an attempt at watermelon w/red flake. The molds were PoP molds that we made. They are not perfect.. but we are both extremely happy with the results for some first timers. We used all lurecraft ingredients with the exception of upperhand scent. I do have one question... how much scent should be put in 8 oz. of plastic? I am not much of a photographer but I hope that you can get the idea.

Thanks for all the compliments.

Nova,

I fully intend on trying your recipe for motor oil, which we discussed in a different thread. We were trying to not go overboard on our first pours.. My friend was in the auto body work(painter and all that goes with it) for years and was being hard headed and wanting to try, and prove, his color combinations from scratch.

Thanks again

They look a lot better than my first pours. Were they made from a 1-piece or 2-piece mold? Be forewarned, pouring you own is highly addictive... and there ain't no 10 step program other than to go fishing a lot more.

Post some pics of it when you get them done. I think you'll like that color.

HJS,

We were using two part PoP molds. I made the senko mold with 3 cavities and my friend made the little craw mold. I think I ended up making a total of 8 molds before I finally got a combination of a top piece and bottom piece that I felt I could live with. It isn't in anyway perfect, but I hope to improve. Today, I poured some laminate senkos with the leftover plastic from yesterdays two pours. The first run.. did not turn out well.. but the second pour for the laminates was on the money...well.. for a rookie. I was very happy with the finished product. My friend hasn't seen them yet.. but he is going to love them as well. I would post a pic of the laminate senkos.. but I do not think I could capture the color difference at the point of the lamination.

Nova,

I will definately post some pics when I pour your recipe for motor oil. I am still waiting to order some colorant(black being one of them). I will have to order some more plastic as well... We only got a pint of lc 502 and lc 532(I think that is the number... medium plastisol) just to check it out.

The black colorant will be ordered with the next order of plastisol.

thanks
