GB GONE Posted July 17, 2008 Report Share Posted July 17, 2008 (edited) Yes it does....Where POP may cure within 24 hours (with heat or other curing), adding UltraCal 30 may increase the drying time to several days. Smallie Posted July 18, 2008 Report Share Posted July 18, 2008 I use straight UltraCal30. I pour in the afternoon or evening and demold the next morning. I speed up the drying by putting them on top of my furnace. It does take a lot longer than plaster to dry. I let it sit on the furnace for a week. Since I only make molds in the off season (from fishing) my routine is generally pour on Saturday, demold on Sunday morning, dry all week and seal the following Saturday. UltraCal 30 gives great detail and the molds are very strong (and heavy). I buy it in the 50 pound pail from Plaster.com and it is about 50 bucks shipped to my house in a bucket that looks like a tall bucket of sheetrock compound. I found my nearest distributor was too far away to make the trip worth while when gasoline was 2.50 per gallon so at todays prices.................... It usually only comes in a couple pound milk carton and is around $10 if I remember right. Look up a nearby hobby store and they will proabably have it. here is a link to one I found.
