Rico24
Hi there, i'm new to TU, and i was just wondering where you guys buy your supplies to make wire baits? I am looking to make buzzbaits, but i have no clue where to buy the stuff from. I live in canada, so anything in canada would be better for shipping cost, but any website will do. Thanks a lot! Spike-A-Pike
I have heard that depending on the size of the order when shipping from the US to Canada, that there is a Value Added Tax (V.A.T.) that made be added to your order by the Canadian government via the postal service. I don't for sure sure, but you may also get hit with the 10% US Federal Excise Tax. I'm not trying to change your mind; rather just open your eyes a little. You may want to see if other Canadian TU members can provide you with some additional information. Just a few mental munchies to chew on with a tall cold one... Rico24
Ouch..That's the only thing i dont like, shipping, taxes, all the added stuff, which brings the price higher. I see some prices are not expensive, but then i get hit with the shipping. thanks for that Spike-A-Pike! Rico
Spike-A-Pike
Re-read Jimbo's post about :-:-: Lure Making :-:-: The Official LureMaking.com Website | Tackle Components | Lure Components | Lure Making Information | Lure Making Supplies they are a Canadian company and they have a good selection of learning materials. Rico24
Hey S-A-P, i did read it, i did check out stuff there, i had already found the site, but like i said, i have no clue how to order. Almost all the websites have a "Cart" This one does not, can you only order by filling out a form and send it by mail? Also, i did check out Welcome to Stamina Quality Components On-Line Store and i do like the prices, would cost me about 10$ to make 5 buzzbaits, (that includes the frames with weight and hook all prepared, the blades, the rivets, the beads and the skirts) I beleive that is a good price, considering on the Luremaking.com website, would cost me about 20$. That is true, they are a canadian company, located in ontario, which is a bonus, but ill keep checking around for the best prices. Thanks! diemai
@ Spike-A-Pike Ordering stuff from Welcome to Moore's Lures for a few times , I could always deduct the US federal excise tax from my bill , no problems about it . OK , Canada is not overseas , but it is also an entirely different nation , so the US ministry of finance should not collect the tax either in this case , one should ask the seller before buying . greetz , diemai
papamark
I buy most of my stuff from Lure Craft, Kim is great to deal with there, she makes sure that you get everyting you order and the only time I have had anything on back order was when I ordered over 600 spinnerbait and buzz bait heads from her, but it was only on back order for about a week. Their prices are hard to beat and I usually get my orders in 3 days after placing it with her.
Rico24
Thanks Papamark, i did check out Lure Craft, and they do have good prices! I might be ordering from them, only thing, shipping would be 9$ for a 20$ order, not to sure if it's worth it... Rico
