Delw
i need to make some baits in motor oil for someone. i searched and found 3 or for recipes for it. anyone have one close to the zoom motoroil color. thanks. to make your own motor oil you need about 6-8 different colors. motor oil has these colors in it as far as I can tell purple, a weird shade of red, chartruse, a light green, yellow, blue which looks to be black grape a green that looks to be transparent. sometimes when we get our colors in bulk they are not mixed 100% so I see the different colors they mix in them to make them. what is weird almost every color has chartruse or yellow and a purple in it. Zbass
daveh, I have looked online for a good pic of zooms motoroil and can't find one that you can see well enough. This is the formula I use. 4oz plastic 1/2 tbls spn salt 4 dps LC motoroil 4 dps LC rootbeer med red flake This is pretty close to berkley's motoroil. Hope this helps. I am new to the forum, Hope this might help also, I do Simular to Delw, but dont use the yellow and blues. Every motor oil is differant batch to batch, usually too much dark green compared to other colors, so you always have to play with colors. texasbass1
I just use MF Motor oil. No fuss no muss and the color really works. A little red flake and you got a fish catcher

Del has a dynamite motor oil too. I would think trying to make a motor oil would be much more difficult than just buying the direct product. If you want a bait more greenish, add LC green; more red, add some LC red translucent dye. The color preference is between STP and Quaker State.
