Ed Brabant
Would something like this work for coloring plastic? Crafts, Etc! ® - T313 Academy Oil Color My wife found something like this at Wally world and I did a search and did not find much about using paint as a dye. boomah21
I am sure it would work to some extent? (maybe wrong) but have never heard of anyone using an oil based paint. Would you brush it on or use an airbrush?
Ed Brabant
I am thinking about using that instead of the dye to color virgin plastic. Not for painting the bait after it is poured.
boomah21
Sorry I was thinking I was in the hardbait section. I apologize
Ed Brabant
Apologize for what? Any and all input is greatly appriciated. I think that hardbait guys have more experience with oil based paints than the soft plastics.
boomah21
Just curious but wouldnt a paint like an acrylique mix better in the soft plastic?....you can pick up some cheap apple barrel acrylique paint from places like hobby lobby or michaels for 99cents. You may also want to try and thin it....I would start by thinning it with windex. I am just not 100% sure how it will react to heat but now you have me interested
Ed Brabant
The only thing it can't have is water in it. 350 degree plastic and water don't like each other.
