WidowMaker
I have a request for a spinnerbait that can be fished at very slow speeds. I was thinking about ordering some of the silver plated deep cup colorado blades. Does anyone here use this type of blade? Does it really give off more vibration than a standard colorado blade? Will it spin as easily as the standard colorado blade.
Celticav
Yeah, it works for slow rolling real good, I also like a large mag willow blade on these types, JIM
WidowMaker
I was hoping you would be the one to answer that question. I just recieved the new Cabelas tackle craft catalog in the mail and i noticed they had colorado blades with holes drilled/stamped through the middle of them. They are calling them VIB-ORADO BLADES. They also have a willow leaf blade they call DIAMOND THUNDER which has a built in rattle chamber in the middle of the blade.
Celticav
I have tried the Diamond Thunder, neat blade but probably not as effective as a rattle band, it looks good though. I received a bait from FatRatz with one on it that I use a good bit, lotta flash with that diamond pattern. I would save your money on the VIB-ORADO BLADES, I had hoped the holes would allow an oversized blade without over torque'ing, but it doesn't. I don't notice any diffence between those and other colo's. JIM
Fat Ratz
One thing you may want to do with a single colorado is make the blade arm a little shorter and this will help with the torque problem.
Celticav
Hey FatRatz! Where you been hiding, you gotta come visit more often! JIM
Fat Ratz
I'm trying Celt, been finishing up a order for Chirmy.
Celticav
Lucky Chirmy! I had his luck this week and more!!! I had my new tacklebag with all my stuff swiped outta the boat. My spinnerbinder, wormbinder, jigbinder, five hard bait boxes from falcon, my map book, my handheld gps, my nikon binoculars, a 3.1 digicam and the rest of my $%#$ was in a new bps bag that was given to me as an early xmas gift and hadn't even got a chance to be on the lake yet. A total loss, the worst of it is my spinnerbinder had my most sentimental baits, you know those ones you make that you just hold dear. I still have enough of everything to go out and fish with, but it was a hard hit that took the cream of my crop. Oh well, now I get to rebuild which will take sometime but ought to be fun and give me an excuse to try some new things, JIM
Fat Ratz
Celt. sorry to here the bad news but don't worry I'll be glad to send you some replacements for the ones that are gone. Maybe the scum bag that stole your goods won't ever catch a fish again! As you well know, there are some of the best and generous people here at Tackleunderground and I am sure you will get more than enought lures to replace what was stolen. Sure its not the same but you may find some new sentimental baits. Hope you and the family have a Merry Christmas anyway and maybe Santa heard us talking! Mylures
Hey Celt, sorry to hear about your bad luck. Its a shame that there are so many low lifes in this world. Some of them are lower than Whale s&%$ and thats at the bottom of the ocean. When I go fishing I always make sure I have someone along when I go to get the trailer. I hope they catch the low life but I wouldn't hold my breath. Well try to have a Merry Xmas anyway. I always feel that if they need it that bad all they would just have to do is ask instead of stealing it. Ken Schmitz Mylures
Celticav
Thanks guys, it sucks but there is nothing I can do at this point except start making myself some replacements. Can't let it ruin the festivities of the season. JIM
WidowMaker
I was fishing off the side of a bridge once and walked off leaving my fanny pack laying down on one end. Someone came by in a truck which slowed down and the passenger jumped out and grabbed it. At least he was nice enough to yell "THANKS A LOT BUDDY". All he got was some plastic worms and some tube jigs.
