Culchie
Just wondering if anyone has attempted to duplicate the color "Crawberry". Just ordered some molds and don't have a large quantity of plastic to experiment with. Would like to make different kinds of lures in that color or close to it. Thanks. hawghunterbaits
I would start with 1/3rd cup plastic, add 2-3 drops watermelon and flake should be close! Let me know.
Zbass
Culchie, What brand of colors do you have? I may have a recipe for something close, but different brands produce different colors. Zbass
Richard Prager
I'm no expert at this, but I see Green Pumpkin and maybe a drop of orange? orange, green chartreuse and black flake. Hey Nova:worship:, where are you??
Zbass
I was thinking of green pumpkin with a drop or two of amber yellow. 152nd, you may be right about the orange though. Might have to try this one for real. Zbass
nova
This is a tough one. Looks like Lc green pumpkin(start with 2 drops in 4 oz) and 4 drops of LC chartreuse or flo yellow. There looks to be some sort of yellow in it. You will have to adjust the green from there. Don't forget, you'll get some color transfer from the glitter as well. www.novalures.com Edited August 23, 2008 by nova
Bass-Boys
Yah, thats a tough-ee. I see light green pumpkin with Orange or copper flake black & green flake too maybe?? should have the glasses on..
Culchie
I use LC coloring. I may have to order some more colors. I'm sure they have new colors since the last time I molded any lures. So I guess it will be trail and error with small amounts. If I think I have anything close, I will let you know. Don't know if I'll have the chance to try it until after the dreaded family vacation though. Thanks for the suggestions.
pastorshane
I was thinking like Nova. But remember if you use flor. yellow it needs to be mixed before heating.
outdooradvantage
Try 4 drops green pumkin, 1 drop watermelon, and 1 drop yellow. Then add you flake. That should get you close.
alsworms
Just to make it more confusing, I'll add my 2 cents........ The base color that I see in your picture looks EXACTLY like another color that I had on my chart. 4 ounces of plastic.... 4 drops Lure Craft Amber Brown 2 drops Lure Craft Golden 1/8 teaspoon Green Hi-lite ....then add your orange, green, and black flake. Then again......different minds, different monitors, etc.
Culchie
There's one more color I need to buy. What do you use for the Green Hi-Lite ?? Don't know if it will make much difference at all. But it's actually RED flake in the lure, though the picture looks ORANGE. Hope you all have a great weekend. nova
Highlites give a sort of sheen to the baits. They are a lot of fun to use and you can make some very interesting effects with them. remember to use just a very little. (it's a powder) www.novalures.com
