alsworms
Hey Fellas, I'm wondering if anyone is having trouble with slow shipping? I know it's the holiday season, but I have never seen it THIS bad . I have had 3 guys complain in the last week about not getting their stuff. One of the boxes was shipped 3 weeks ago! I ship everything via USPS priority mail. Is UPS faster during the holidays? I pride myself of fast shipping and I hate ticked off customers. Just curious if anyone has any input on this? snookin4
I had this problem shipping earlier this month. Priority mail Florida to Texas took 15 days and 6-7 days to S.C. They arrived just about the time I was going to re-ship.
kfellmy
Anything coming in or out of Florida is slow mail wise. I hate it. Waiting on ebay checks to come in and nothing. Been about three weeks.
alsworms
Fortunately, 2 of the 3 guys have received their stuff (close to 3 weeks!). Now just waiting on the last one. I believe if a guy pays for priority mail shipping, the package should arrive in 2-3 days, regardless of the time of year. The post office should do whatever it takes to make sure those packages are delivered on time. I could have paid a third the price for media or first class shipping, and they get there just as fast???? Of course, I have friends who work with USPS and they'd kill me for saying that. snookin4
That's funny cause the stuff I sent 1st class got there in 3 days and the priority mail took 15. I sent some packs of lures monday to south Florida and they were there X-mas Eve, but the priority mail I sent last week to TX still isn't. redg8r
I think USPS had a rough holiday, cause I had a few packages i needed for christmas arrive late. (12 days from mississippi to sw. fla) luckily the kids are so spoiled, missing a couple gifts didnt bother them

alsworms
It just seemed worse to me this holiday season. Maybe I'm just being paranoid. 5 years - no complaints, then I get 3 in two days. Next year I think I'll try going a slower route and explain to the customer that it could be a month before they get their goodies. Jann
Wow! You really have big problems. I ordered some stuff ftom Muskie Innovations and it cam three days later to Sweden.... It got caught in the Swedish customs just three days after being shipped. It took a week before it arrived at the local "parcel delivery service". I also ordered some stuff from Moore?s Lures two weeks ago and still no sign of it - so it seems to a bit randomized during x-mas. Gr8flyz
I ship most things using Priority also! I had a customer in MO who wanted part of a large Pike fly order by Christmas to give to friends as gifts. I shipped the flies to the customer using Priority with Confirmation, insured it, just in case, and got it back 8 days later! The USPS never attempted to deliver it, said my customer didn't have a mail receptacle, so they brought it back to me! It went from MD to MO, and back, and my customer didn't get it for Christmas. I got a bunch of BS about why they didn't hold it in MO, so my customer could have picked it up! My customer claimed it was small town politics on his end! I kept checking online with the Confirmation number to see what was happening, and the only thing that eventually was indicated was when they scanned the bar code when they returned it to me! The whole procedure is worthless! The worse part is I had to pay to have it redelivered back to MO. I've had a few times this year where Priority got "lost" for a few days, but got delivered eventually! I think I'm going to look into Fedex for future shipping.
