finfever
Does anyone use salt in their lee pots? I heard salt is bad for them and can damage it, is this true or just BS. If this is true i can't wait to get a presto pot. Thanks.
alsworms
I'm not sure about it damaging the pot. I just know that salt (and larger flakes) will sometimes clog the hole.

Ed Brabant
It's taking the "no stick" finish from the bottom of my presto pot from the stiring paddel that is scraping the bottom of the pot. The salt is a good abrasive.
rxfish
I think salt left in the pot for an extended period of time, like not cleaning it for a couple of weeks, might have an effect on the metal, but the way we use them the salt is not in the pot for very long. My pots are quite old and I see nothing happening to the liner. Lurecraft sells new liners for about 4 bucks. Their not in the catalog and not on line, you have to ask for them. COBRA
you have to stir constantlyto keep the salt suspended. i havent used my pots in years............ left some plastic in them, rusted! i have to wire brush on a drill clean them. and replace the screws ect.
