fishindayz
I'm back for more help. I'm trying to match this hook, and I'm getting tired of sending hooks back, so hopefully somebody can point me in the right direction. It is .044 dia. and approx 60 mm long. I don't know the size, and with my lack of knowledge, I don't even know the bend. I haven't found a eagle claw or a gamakatsu to match, and I've got mustad hooks on the way. Once again, any help is greatly appreciated.
bassrecord
9 I'm back for more help. It looks like a straight (not offset) Sproat bend hook. It looks like normal weight wire and the point is straight (does not bend back toward the shank). My guess is that you've taken it into a tackle shop and they cannot match it, right? Not surprizing. Today hook sizes vary a lot from manufacturer to manufacturer - one size 2 is not = another size 2!. So one way to help us find your hook is for you to match a common hook against it in a photo. The Mustad 3366 is an old common hook most tackle shops carry and if you find the same size as your hook and put them both in a photo with a ruler we can see if we have what you are looking for and give you the Manufacturer, model and size that matches. Good luck! John
reeves
I'll take a stab at it. It looks to me like an O'Shaughnessy, and from the deminsions, it is a 4/0. I didn't measure the diameter on one, so this is only an uneducated guess.

I used to use these hooks on large grubs because they have a longer shank than an aberdeen jig hook. www.novalures.com
Ogajiga
If the hook is bronze and round wire (not forged) its a Gamakatsu 111. Has a smaller eye, longer leg, and thinner wire than "standard" Mustad, Eagle Claw, & VMC O'Sh jig hooks, so probably won't fit a Do-it mold designed for the EC 630-635.
