RipLip
When I was in my pouring room last night I noticed white dots all over the floor which is plywood. I got to looking at it and confirmed it to be mold and then I started looking around and there was mold going up the legs of both my pouring staions and pretty much randomly all over the place. I can tell my plastics are sucking some up too so I've been bringing all the baits to a different room for storage. I installed a dehumidifier last night and in 4 hours of pouring there was about 1 1/2 gallons already in the bottom of the unit. Will this clear up my problems? I didn't have an issue through the winter and I have great ventilation. The basement is kind of wet but the room is enclosed and sealed. Also if this has happened to anybody what is the best way to clean this disgusting stuff. Thanks
daveh
you can try 1part bleach 10 parts water or go to your local hardware store and get some mold killer.
RipLip
DaveH I'm definitley going to the hardware store today to get something. Hopefully the dehumidifier stops it from happening anymore but it was amazing how fast something like that can just appear. I just wanted to make sure everyone is aware of the humidity in the air when they pour because if you leave your baits in there they will bead up with moisture and look like crap. I have a bunch that are air drying upstairs to see if they come back to normal. Defenitely something that sneaks up. I also think it has something to do with my air conditioner in the room. RipLip
Well just an update for everyone. When I walked into the pouring room last night it had a completely different feel to it. I had to empty the dehumidifer twice since the day before and there wasn't any condensation or moisture building up anywhere. In fact, worms that had sucked in moisture were sucked dry again. It is unbelieveable how much of a change could happen in 24hrs. I didn't clean anything though, obviously not my favorite thing to do, but I'll get to it. Take it easy.
