I don't imagine the plastic pot will get hot enough to melt lead. I have not seen the lead pot. If it had a thermostat for low temp control it would do the plastic. But they have the same tub, levers, etc. THe lead pots have hotter settings than plastic pots and I doubt if the plastic pots will melt lead. I can see only using a new pot that is not containing any lead before. Who has the best price out there for a lee pot or is there something better? A lead pot will burn plastic fast. if you call lee they will sell them to ya but for about the same price or a tad hirer than lurecraft.
