dietmar
Hello, I am looking for a mold to get a weight on my swimbait hooks like the Mustad 91768BLN. For example like this on the photograph or something equal. Do It or Hilts have nothing in there program. Is there someone who know a dealer for such a mold? Rottweiler
This does not really answer the specific question. But fly tye-ers' use a lead wire that is wrapped around the shank of the hook to add weight before tying. So many wraps would equal certain weights. Another option would be a bondo mold. I just made my first bondo mold the other day of a vertical jig, and it turned out pretty good. Fairly easy to do.
dietmar
Hello, in the moment I use copper wire to weight my hooks. I weld the ends together and paint it black. But I hope I find a mold, wich enables to produce weights with a profile like a wing of an airplane to get more buoyancy for fishing near the top of the water. bojon
I have used the HILTS TJM-32-16 tube jig mold modified with a Dremel tool,to accept Wright and Mcgill wide bend laser sharpened hook point, with excellent success. They make several sizes of this mold series. This may work for you. TTDuckman
In about another month, I believe you will see a swimbait hook mold for the hook you are referring to from Do-it. Tim
Mags
I second that. Do-it will have a mold available soon. It was debuted at Icast. Steve
KAOS Tackle
I am waiting patiently for the mold also. In the meantime, bullet weights makes a pinch on sinker in various weights that work perfect on a g-lock. They are cheap and an excellent way to swap weight on the swimbait hook in a matter of seconds without changing hooks.
