Mad Eye
First of all i have to thank everyone for their help and wealth of knowledge so far. Have learnt so much. Hopefully i can share somthing someone else will find usefull After reading some older articles on using crayons for colouring i thought i would try some dye blocks used for candle making. Purchaced a range of colours for $1.50 (Aud about $1USA) each. A few tiny shavings is enough to colour around 10 5inch baits. Was really happy with the price and how they turned out. You will need to add the shavings before melting and give a few good stirs to mix the colour through. Alternativly you can stir lightly to some awsome swirl effects in the plastic. Will try and post some pics later.
nova
If you are going into business you have to find a way of measuring the amount of color you add for each recipe. You must be able to produce consistant colors from one pour to the next. www.novalures.com
Mad Eye
yeah. Using scales and using one socks idea of mass producing base colours pouring a thin film and storing it untill needed. It is alot harder to measure than dye but the price difference makes up for it
