RipLip
I have been working on this bait for a while. I wanted to throw it up here to see what everyone thinks. Thanks for the input either way.
outdooradvantage
Very nice, I bet it will have a lot of action with the bigger ends.
RipLip
Yes it has great action when you jig it up. The fall rate is nice pretty common with normal sticks but when you pull it the ends flutter until you stop pulling it. I've caught fish during the fall, the jig and also just reeling it in slow. RipLip
Thanks Shane the colors are a work in progress nothing measured on those. I still need to do a drop test but right now they are falling just fine. Thanks for all your help with this bait. I'll call you later this morning. pigdestroyer
The bait looks great. I really like the colors too. Are you using an aluminum mold? If so, who cut it for you?
Fatman
Rip Nice baits!!!!! Look like winners, I know on wacky's the center where the hook goes gets torn up are you'res reinforced somehow?? I rember a thread on here where folks were using small screening cotton mesh etc. Fatman
RipLip
Fatman I know what you mean about that and that is common on most sticks that are the skinny size all the way across. The thicker middle definitely holds up better than I thought but I haven't had one of those days where you can see how many fish you can catch on the same bait in a while. The last day I went fishing with these I kept changing colors and styles so I think I caught 3 on one of the baits but none of them were torn up. I guess I really won't know until next spawning season when they are slammin' them. To make a long story short I don't think they will need a mess inserted in them. Sounds like a good idea to mess with this winter though.
