Tackle Making Newbie

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone. I'm really new to tackle making. So new that I've never made anything. I want to try this out but I don't want to completely dive in without knowing anything. This site came recommended from a member on the Ohio Game Fishing site. My question to any and all of you is this: what are some of the quality brands of equipment? I'd like to try to make everything except soft plastics and hard baits for now. I don't want to spend hundred's of dollars right off the bat, but I don't want junk either. I'd like to get a good starter kit. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

CDL,

First, welcome to the TackleUnderground.com... the center of the tackle making universe. This has been the first forage into tackle making for many a member.

Second, there tends to be two main interest groups among the Wire Baits forum:

a) spinnerbaits - There are 10 spinnerbait kits that you can get from
http://www.cabelas.com' rel="external nofollow">

Both of the options above will allow you to see what it takes to get started. As your interest increases, you'll find that these kits just wet your appetite... Soon you may want to add bucktails, or silicon skirts, or some powder painting. You are only limited by your imagination. Good luck and tight lines.
