dramone Posted November 20, 2008 Report Share Posted November 20, 2008 i read a lot of using i.e. epoxy or elmers to seal a pop mold. my question: meltet plastisol is about 180C, wont this harm the epoxy or elmers, or is the "hot" time to short to harm it? Zbass Posted November 20, 2008 Report Share Posted November 20, 2008 i have used the epoxy thinned out and have not had any issues. Read the labels and get the one with the highest temp rating. longhorn Posted November 20, 2008 Report Share Posted November 20, 2008 I have used Elmers for sealing POP molds since 1975 and believe me, it is not harmed by heated plastic....I have some of those 1975 models that still pour fine. If the mold is large and open you can paint on the Elmers full strength...I started mixing with water so I could flood the cavities instead of paint them with a brush...this saves a lot of time and trouble.
