Kimbro1014
I would like to start pouring my own jigs and had a few questions about skirt material. Looking at the different websites it appears most skirts come preformed and after tying on you can cut the tabs at the end to separate the skirt material. Is this correct? Also, with fine living rubber it looks different on the websites, as if there are no tabs on the ends and you actually have to split the material yourself. Is this correct? If it is, what is the easiest way to split the material? Also, does anybody know of a mold that pours a weedless football jig head that is similar to the picasso fantasy football jig heads or bass patrol jig heads? Thanks in advance everyone for all of the help. Have a great holiday season. Take Care Joe
Basseducer
kimbro1014, Question #1: Correct Question #2: Correct. After you tie the rubber (cut to your desired length) onto the jig you grasp the end of the strip and pull slightly while cutting the end off. The strands will sheer off along pre-scored lines. If they don't shread completely you can separate them by hand. I don't think that mold is available commercially yet. You can get a custom mold made, but they are expensive. Hope this helps.
