RiverMan
Anyone built a swimbait with the internal wire and weight built into the mold before pouring? I have an idea how I could do this but was hoping to learn from someone who has already been through the trials and tribulations. thx. MTfishingrods
I am working on that right now. I purchased Dels 9"jerk bait mold a few weeks ago and am experimenting with different placement of hooks and weights in the head before I decide to modify the mold itself to take the harness. It was a discounted mold so I am a little less worried about modifying it than I would be normally. Hopefully I can finish before the water gets hard. The pond behind the house is froze over already so I had better hurry. The Lake wont be to far behind.
Green_Fingers
There is a swedish guy on TU, Mangeboy, if you look in the softbaits gallery he has poured some fairly big pike baits that have an internal wire harness with treble hooks attached and I think they are weighted. I look forward to seeing your results, I have been curious about doing this for some of my bigger baits too! Simon
Vodkaman
I am interested also. I cannot really offer anything constructive though. If it is your intention to have a rear mounted hook, then you have to consider 7 strand wire as the harness rather than ss wire. Please post your findings, positive or negative.
