TAE73
Looks good, a solid body tube? I pour a solid body kind of pain in the butt, good thing they last alot longer.
Vodkaman
I would prefer to see a picture of the mold. The baits look good, as far as the small pic will allow us to see. Dave

crappieslab
Here are pics of the mold and you can sorta see the injector in the upper right on lower pic.
crappieslab
I know they are hard to see but they are crappie jigs they are just like rocky top jigs if you know what they are. If not you can google them. There are good pics on finny tubes web site.(I think thats right) They are called supper jigs. I am getting ready to make mold for regular crappie jigs (1 1/2 or 1 3/4 inch) and going to try and make inserts for super slab jigs. I can use the same mold

Jig Man
I went to your photobucket album to get a better look. They look solid. How do you cut the strands? Also what do you mean by super slab inserts? I am working on a crappie/walleye bait for this winter and am interested in what yours will look like. TAE73
Its a stinger style tail, creates lots of action. Started around Truman Lake about 4 or 5 years ago. Lots of crappie tournaments won this style bait. Rocky Top Super Slab - Medium http://www.genelarew.com/Crappie/3slabslayr.html Slab your molds look good, what did you make yours out of? I made mine out of aluminum. Edited December 3, 2008 by TAE73
crappieslab
I make them out of Teflon, it is good up to 500 degrees. I don't have to pre-heat them also. It works very well!!! Edited December 4, 2008 by crappieslab
Vodkaman
Lab. Teflon has been mentioned before in the forums, but nothing really ever came to light. Would you consider starting a new thread on the subject, explaining more about your mold system. I assume you are machining from a block of the material. Lots of questions need answering, material sourcing, cost, durability, use for lead etc. Of course, if it is a trade secret thing I will respectfully understand. Almost forgot, thanks for the mold pic, but couldn't see much unfortunately. Dave Edited December 4, 2008 by Vodkaman
Jig Man
I'd really like to know about your teflon and where you get it.

Vodkaman
Did you pour it or machine it? Dave
crappieslab
I machined the mold and inserts and made a injector so I can inject the plastic into the mold. I was looking at Dels molds and I think the injector will work on them. I do not have any to try though.
