Downriver Tackle
You need an N95 prefilter and an organic vapor cartridge. Change the vapor cartridge when you can smell the paint.

mark poulson
Use a good dust mask for sawdust and sanding dust, and a respirator for solvents and fumes and painting/finishing.
RiverMan
You can buy an appropriate respirator at most auto part stores. I bought my last one at Wal-Mart near the paint section. Make sure you store the mask in an air-tight container when you aren't using it because they continue to filter even if they aren't being worn. I use a coffee can to store mine or a large zip-loc bag. Jed

Jed, I never thought about that before, it makes sense. Thanks. Dave
