using netcraft molds

Recommended Posts

I have used those molds and injectors. I had success with them and with some homemade injection molds. When you fill the injector with plastic turn it over right away and stand it on the bench or table. Then take the mold and use it to push down the injector...when you start to push down make sure the nozzle is clear...I use a piece of wire....when the mold is full stand it up so the plastic can't run out of the bottom. You have to do this quickly. I used this method to mold lures like grubs and c-tail worms that couldn't be hand poured. This method gets a lot of bad press on here but if you're careful and get the hang of it, you can make some great baits. The plastic material the injectors and molds are made of is crap and will craze and crack and sometimes break but will make some nice baits. I re-made injectors using electrical conduit for the barrell. I hand-machined my molds with a Dremel out of plexiglas and coated them with full strength Elmers and they worked great and still work great. Will take some pics next time I get to the shed.

All netcraft molds r vented on the bottom because they r injection type molds. you can open up the pouring hole and hand pour into them if you like, I have done this before to some of them.I personaly do not use them or their INJECTORS because they r very very UNSAFE! I really dont like 325 degree plastic going all over my body! It does leave a mark. Dont get me wrong the guys at netcraft r awesome guys to talk to and deal with, they r very in tune with everything fishing, but there molds and injectors r junk! I too may have some molds laying around if anyone wants them give me a shout.
