MuskyGary
Has anyone tried foiling with reflecto or holoform tape? Seems simple enough. Cut a pattern out of paper that fits your lure; then copy the pattern onthe tape cut it out and apply tp lure. Next exospy the bait; paint top and bottom and head and exopsy again and your done. Right?
BobP
Yeah, I guess, if you're talking about the holo tape like Witch Tape sold for spoons and blade baits. The practical problem is that it's stiff and won't conform or stick well to anything but a flat metal surface. For crankbaits, you want something thin and supple that can be smoothed out so the margins won't be obtrusive. JMHO
diemai
@ MuskyGary They used to sell such ready-made holoform tape cut-outs for certain biggger saltwater pirk models at the German supplier HAKUMA ihr Spezialist f
MuskyGary
Thanks for the info guys. I see your point about working around the curves; I might tru the tape on flat sided baits. Just something to play with this winter!
bobv
It works great on Rattle baits since they are flat sided. I like to put a light coat of white over it just to knock down the reflectiveness a little then finish with D2t.
