northsea
Hi all, how goes? I've been experimenting using epoxy and thinning it down with thinners to seal POP molds. The results have been quite good although I find I get air bubbles in the epoxy after mixing it. Is there a technique to get rid of those bubbles? Any feedback greatly appreciated as always. bojon
I have found that a gentle stirring will give good results.Keep the stirring rod in the epoxy and stir alot, but not a whipping action. It is easy to get air into the epoxy if you are too aggressive. nova
What are you thinning it with? www.novalures.com
bojon
Alcohol.I also use it to clean my brushes. When cleaning a brush, finish with a dish detergent, and rinse well.
21xdc
Exhale on the bubbles when they rise in the mixing cup etc... Apply and let the bubbles surface again and exhale on them. The carbon dioxide will pop them. It's not the heat that does it like some think. Read #4 Environmental Technology Inc.
nova
I just use cheap dollar store brushes (10 in a pack for $1) and throw them away after I use them. Just pinch down the metal where the hair is attached and this will help with the bristles coming out. www.novalures.com
bojon
Nova,I also pinch down the metel, but also clean these cheap brushes mostly because I forever seem to run out of them.Do they turn into wire coat hangers????? :(I always seem to have only one left.Go figure.
