Joshua Russell
Hello, I recently purchased a Boggs tackle maker to make musky spinners. The machine does a great job making the necessary loops and bends. Recently I began tying my tails on a coil of wire. I think this makes my tails look better, and plus I can get much more hair without interfering with the hooks. The problem is that once I close the loop on one end of the bait and add my weight (usually a egg sinker), the coil with my bucktail tied, beads, clevis and blade, I am unable to close the loop on the other end. It is frustrating, because the wire is not any longer than I use for the other spinners, where I tie the tail on the hook and attach with a split ring. Does anyone have any suggestions. Thanks so much, and God Bless.
Big Splash
You will have to form the loop with a round nosed forming plier and a second pair of pliers to do the wrap. Do a few practice loops first, and they will come out fine. I build the 'Flamin' orange minnow' this way. You can view it in the gallery, or on my web site.
