jimcline
They do look good, nice job. Do you pour with a presto or with a pyrex cup?

Dave, you're probably right. I'm in the same boat with my presto, no stirrer yet so kind of a pain stirring. But man does it make pouring easy. I intend to get one of Bears' stirrers soon. Best out there in my humble opinion. I can even envision using 2 pots for 2 color baits if you had a big run to do. Some day one of these guys on here may figure out a way to put a divider in one of these pots with a double stirrer and 2 spouts for 2 color pours. Wouldn't that be handy? daveh
jim i may also buy a motor from bear. the flat tail mold is real thin right before the tail and not sure how it would pour such a small stream of plastic. i had to order another mold because the guy wants a bunch of these. i got it down with the 2 cups but need to start with the pot. JSC
"Some day one of these guys on here may figure out a way to put a divider in one of these pots with a double stirrer and 2 spouts for 2 color pours. Wouldn't that be handy?" Hi Its been figured out with a divider but no stirrer. I think it is in the thread about pouring "Swirels" 2 valves side by side, piece of alum bolted in and sealed with gasket material. I have all the data on it .. just have not had a chance to work on it. ----------- Dave those chartruse tails look good ! JSC
bojon
Dave, those look great.Good job! Wonder if a divider could be put in place using JB Weld! Wouldn't two small motors like used for models, like 1 1/2 RPM,be geared to a paddle motion rather than circular be a workable solution.Micro Mark has them in thier catalog. Just thinking out load! Dave, that's the beauty of the presto> Once you get the valve hot enough you can control the size of the stream quite easily. Should make pouring those thin tails a breeze. daveh
got to get off my backside and get that pot working. got some big orders and would like to cut some time off the jobs.
bear21211
Dave Making the divided pot is not the issue. That I can do. The problem lies in the expense of two stirring systems. Also you would not be able to only use 1 side f the pot at a time because you would burn the empty cavity up with nothing for it to heat. Now you are talking about having a 400.00 to 450.00 pot instead of a 200.00 pot. If this is something that would be useful to us and you think the price would justify the reward of having it set up that way, I will start working on one now. So guys if this is something that would interest any of you and I get enough feedback to build one that way I will make it happen over the next couple of days. So without Hijacking your post if there is any interest in this guys let me know and I will get started.

I use a brass air chuck fitting and cut the bottom of it off ( less metal to keep heated and cause clogging) ... Hope this helps JSC
daveh
bear i think jim was talking about the devided pot. i will need a motor. thanks for the info jsc. i will have to find a nozzle.
fish_rman2000
why not modify a hand mixer and mount it to the presto pot?
