ipock2
Looking at making some 4 to 6" large wakebaits. Anyone ever use dowell rods for lure bodies? Yes! Sure makes turning on a lathe alot easier.
bbduc
Sure do. Broken shovel handles even some closet rod from time-to-time. Starting out with a round stock speeds things up. Other times when I'm after a specific type of wood I head to the lumber store but even then I'll check to see if it's available in dowel form
bmadd
I'm having trouble marking center on the ends. Do you guys worry with that or not? I'm having to do all my shaping by 80 grit sandpaper, dremel and a wood rasp.
bbduc
They make tools specifically for that. I have a jig I made to do this. Here's a link to give you an idea.
