Joe Dogg
What are the specs of the stiffest weed guards for Jigs and where is a place to get them? I put a piece of a spinner bait wire in a jig along with the weed guard and it still wasn't stiff enough for the guy I made them for. Thanks in advance
rr316
You aren't going to get em much stiffer than that, Barlows has all the different stiffness' listed on there website. honestly when I get weird requests like that I usually tell em to go somewhere else, some people are never gonna be satisfied and your better off not dealing with them. just mho. Theres no earthly reason why someone need a stiffer weedguard then what you described, the fish is surely gonna feel that weedguard because it won't compress in there mouth, and you would have to have a ungodly hookset to even drive the point of the hook past it. clemmy
Do-It molds also has 6 different resitances listed. Another option might be a y-guard, Or find some plastic rod that's 1/8". Ultimately you could simply epoxy your current strands halfway up. The only reason I could see for needing that stiff though would be prefishing a jig for a tournament, where you're trying NOT to catch fish...
