Baitman0928
Almost ready to start pouring my own baits as i've gotten almost all my stuff in and in place. Went to wal-mart last night to pick up my pyrex measuring cups. (will be using microwave to heat plastic) However the only cups wal-mart had was made by "anchor" they looked and felt like a pyrex but wasn't the pyrex brand. Does anybody use the anchor? Would it work just as well or do you all prefer the pyrex? thanks, adam

Long Lake Lures
I use Anchor and have had no problems with soft plastics yet, but remember that you should adhere to basic glass safety and not stress with sudden changes in temperature. nova
Same here, no problems. Just don'tt set the cup on a cold surface after it's heated; it can explode. I use old RTV molds(silicone) as a pad to set the hot cup on. www.novalures.com
bojon
I have used both brands, and usually pick the one with a narrow pouring spout. Both work just fine.If buying a used one, make sure there is not even a slightest chip in the surface.Follow the saftey instructions on this site.Temp shock, and chips are what to avoid. wiredhatred
Anchor works just as well as Pyrex. I was in the same situation where Anchor was the only thing they had so I picked some up. Still use them, and have had no problems with them at all. I believe they are the exact same thing just a different brand and thats it. Smallie
I use Anchor and have had no problems with soft plastics yet, but remember that you should adhere to basic glass safety and not stress with sudden changes in temperature. While you are at Walmart getting the cups, get a silcone pot holder. I am talking about the flat ones not the glove. They should be in the same vacinity as the cups. Put the hot cup on the silicone pot holder and it will insulate it from cold surfaces.
