BassnRandy
Anybody able to get me close too G.Y's on this? I seem to be way to brown. I don't have to be perfect but at least in the same zip code. I am using M-F cinnamon so far. Seems like G.Y's has a pink caste in the brown or a lite redish tinge compared to what i am using. I could be wrong but i am definatly off. Randy Oh I got the blue flake part right!
D.J.
My M-F cinnamon seems to be dead on. I put just a touch of salt in the plastic which seems to help the color some. You can also add a drop of red. This will give it the reddish kind of tint you are talking about.
dsmblack
Try 4 oz plastic 8 drops LC brown 2 drops LC red I use it to make cinnamon/purple flake by Yamamoto. It is dead on.
BassnRandy
Thanks. I looked up several cinnamon baits and theyreally vary from company to compnay. Some are almost gray colored. I will work off the brown. i use it alot and if I don't have to buy another color it won't bother me a bit.
dsmblack
Yeah, try my recipe for Yamamotos, cause I thought it was right on. I agree cinnamon is different by all makers. I will tell you though, for what its worth, the recipe that I gave you does catch fish. I have a customer of mine that uses it regularly and I fish with hoim and he does very well on it. Post a pic when you get it done.
nova
Check out my website and look for "blue worm" color. Is that what you are looking for? www.novalures.com
BassnRandy
Thanks everyone! I made three batches last night and was not happy with any of them. Then i was doing inventory this morning before church and it hit me as i looked at a bottle. This was 2oz of plastic. 2 drops L.C brown 2 drops M-F earthworm I also use Dels night crawler. They are really close each with it's own bit of pink but just the right brown. This is the one I will be going with. Will do a salt pour tonight and then post pictures of both. Figure i will have to up it a couple of drops.
Smallie
Thanks. I looked up several cinnamon baits and theyreally vary from company to compnay. Some are almost gray colored. I will work off the brown. i use it alot and if I don't have to buy another color it won't bother me a bit. Eventually, you will get it matched perfectly and then one day you find that Yamomoto's don't match your baits because their lack of quality control has let the color change. I say this because when I moved in 2003, I ended up mis-placing some of my Yamamoto baits. They were in a cardboard box placed inside a large plastic rubbermaid storage container and kept in a dark basement. The baits did not show any signs of moisture absorbtion but the colors were off some. Cinnamon (176) was one of them. It is a lot darker and more gray now. BassnRandy
Actually mine doesn't match Yamamoto's. It's a hair more brown. BUT It is what i think a great cinnamon should look like. that being said i think that is how alot of colors come about. If it sells well and catches fish i will be happy. if not i see my self throwing it alot.
