cwenbass
I can't seem to get my tubes to be a little thicker. I always pour in 4 oz. increments. I added about 1/2 teaspoon of hardener and the tubes come out the same as the ones without any hardner. I use LC's medium plastic. I am also letting the baits sit for a day. Jig Man
Here is the advice I got when I asked a similar question. http://www.tackleunderground.com/forum/soft-plastics/15090-i-need-firm-plastic.html
tedg
You posted you wanted to get your tubes thicker. If that is what you meant, then just dip them more. Every dip adds to the thickness. I don't believe thickness has anything to do with hardness. Ted
bojon
Two things. Use the #500 formula from LC,or any other salt water formula to get the hardness. To get thicker tubes(the walls),let them cool down for a few minutes than dip a second or third dip. They will get thicker, but not harder. It doesn't take too many dips and you will find that they will be too thick, just cool the tube down between dips. Senkosam
Thicker or less soft? Thicker has been answered. To firm the plastic, I use clear flakes (sugar) and for me it make the plastic firmer than using hardener. Not much is needed.
