Bobs Tackle Shack

I have one that I have poured some recycled plastic in, they came out great.

I ordered a five gal from del and will try it with some good plastic next week.

I have three molds from him that look like first quality to me. I asked del if he knew him and he said he did but not much else. I got the feeling they are not friends.

I tried one that he has, They work well and havent had any problems with it.

I still like dealing with del since he has a good name and his customer service is great too.

For the price you cant go wrong. Del's molds have more cavitys so you can pour more into the one mold. ( thats why he costs more)

I use Del's molds. They are easy to pour and the end product is awesome. I don't know how Del's is priced next to Bob's but the end product and easy production is what pays for the molds in my opion and my end product with Del's is second to none. Has anyone compared the two molds with speed and quality of the end product in mind (not just mold price)? Let me know.

I agree, I would not want to SELL an exact duplicate of the Senko... But, I use the baits that I have been making myself. I'm not in this as a business. I personally like the shape and action of the Senko over other knock offs that I have tried. It's probably just a mental thing for me though... Of course a $.75 cent worm is going to catch fish better than a $.30 cent worm... Right?? Um... I don't hear anybody agreeing with me... :-)

Anyways...

It's definetely a mental block  , I have been selling and using the Stiks from Del's molds for over a year now and I will tell you there is one thing that will change your tune. Leave the Yammies at home and fish Del's for the whole day, if you catch fish...which you should, you will think differently about those other baits. Keep in mind, your baits have to be as close to Gary's as possible in softness and salt content to really make you a believer...that takes some time & practice to accomplish. I find the biggest difference is the plastics toughness (not to be confused with hardness) Calhoun is tough, even when poured as a soft bait...the trade off is salt release is not a fast as a Yammie. That being said, Yamamoto baits tend to lose their sink rate as the salt dispurses over time, Calhoun poured baits loose very little. As for the bass eating them, I dont use Yamamotos ( I hear they work very well though  ) but there isnt much difference when you compare apples to apples.

I got a nice little "informative" letter from Yamamoto the other day. Apparently, they don't like my senko name either. Wonder why?? :P

I'm fighting it.......I'll lose.....but I'm fighting it.

Isn't is sad to know that Yamamoto is losing money to other makers of their overpriced bait?? They must really be hurting for money (NOT!!).

Wish I could get my hands on those *&^*&(&^%$*!!!

Sorry......just had to vent a little.

Chris

I see nothing wrong with Al's Worms (alsworms) calling Al's Enko (alsenko) or Al's Craw (alscraw) or whatever Al's wants to call its baits. keep up the good work Al!

No disrespect to Yamamoto he makes a hell of a bait, but look in Bass Proshops new catalog or Janns net craft's or Barlow's for that matter. Thay all advertise them under different names. I think the name is what they are protecting and have every right to. I see no problem with your Enko  Oh yeah, you ever see Wave Worms "tiki sticks"?

I would like to see a copy of the fan mail you got if you wouldnt mind posting it.

I buy a lot of molds from Bob, he is a really cool and friendly guy. And one hell of a machinist if I do say so myself. He has a lot more molds than what he lists on his website as well. I would have spent a lot more days skunked last year if I didn't have his reaper molds. The S@nko type molds he has are awesome, not "too squared off" as someone asked earlier. Everyone that sees the baits wants a bag of them...If you want excellent prices and service, not to mention FAST shipping, you can't go wrong at the tackle shack! He even makes some nice Z@pper style grub molds now.

As far as Yamawhatsisname is concerned, he should leave nice people Like Chris alone and accept the fact that his torpedo shaped worm has become a household name. He should spend more time formulating plastics that don't fall off the damned hook every other cast or disintegrate after a bluegill farts on them. Can you say TOO MUCH SALT? People that try to monopolize small business sectors in this country should be tried for treason. Our country is built on free commerce and open competition...But I guess Mr. Yamawhatever doesn't like the fact that Al's makes better worms than he is capable of doing.

Pardon the rant....I just fires me up that some moron would come after a guy that truly does make "Custom" baits. Keep Fightin' em Chris. I think I'll go bid on some Alsenkos on eBay...

My .02 on the Senko thing. Durability on the originals was always my problem. Fish one for an hour or so and they start to fall of the hook. Get bit and its for sure a gonner. Had much better results with BPS Sticko. Trick is they are all over the map on weight. This seems like a bad thing but actually it works good out for me cause I just take several bags and a scale and sort them into three different weight categories. The heaviest is identical to Senko, but the plastic is a little tougher so they hold up better. In shallow water the lighter baits fish great.

My point is not to sell Stickos but to point out that Senkos aren't perfect. There's a lot of room for fine tuning for a home pourer.
