Muskie Hunter
Hi Guys. This is my first post so go easy on me. I'm looking for heavy gage, 0.061" or heavier, silicone skirt material in bulk to make musky baits. Any thoughts? Thanks in Advance! Tight Lines, Mark. rock
Mark, I buy my silicon material from Janns Netcraft. They carry a good selection of skip-cut silicon and it works well for me. Not sure of the dimension, but silicon won't hold up forever. Good thing is it is cheap and easy to replace on any bait after it has been chewed up. I simply use zip ties and re-do my spinnerbaits when needed. Rock
Muskie Hunter
I saw what they have to offer and it seems limited in terms of colour. I would like Black with red fleck of clear with silver etc. Having never bought it in bulk before, not sure if they can supply this. Tight Lines, Mark. psv
Mark, I'm sorry, but I don't know where to get this kind of silicone. I wasn't able to find any kind of round silicone material. I use Starflash and Hydrosilk ready skirts ( combine 3 skirts in one). I don't do lures for sale, I don't need a lot of them and price is really not a problem in my case. Spike-A-Pike
One of the few places I found that you can get musky length skirts is Skirts Unlimited. I make my own in-lines and Charles was easy to work with and get exactly what I needed/wanted. A source for your wire is Hagens' (.060 dia. in 25 ft and 100 ft bulk lengths) which allows you to cut the shafts to your required length. Hope this gets you on track... psv
Bruce, Charles has a great color selection and price , but his skirts are flat silicone. Just for experiment, I mixed some flat silicone strands with hydrosilk skirts (90% round and 10% flat). It looks good : black hydrosilk with flame yellow/red looks like a killer to me. Muskie Hunter
Where can I buy Starflash and Hydrosilk in bulk? Tight Lines, Mark.
psv
Netcraft, Barlows, Stamina have them in stock. Stamina gives 20% off if you buy more then 500. Hydrosilk was available at Netcraft and Northern Bass Supply, but currently they are out of stack, because of manufacture problem. I spoke with Netcraft manager and was told maybe in a month or so. They are not sure. Not too many options with round silicone skirts. Regards, PSV
