Asingua
Hi Guys, I hope I'm in the right area for this question. I've been tying deer hair and marabou bucktails for muskies for awhile now, but wanted to get into Flashabou Buckys. I've noticed that they (Flash), are generally held in place by some kind of small rubber band. Where would I get material to do this and how difficult is it to do? Thanks
MUSKY
I use thread & head cement on flashabou. Works fine & is much easier to tie than bucktail or marabou.
MuskyGary
Use "skirt collars" and a skirt tool. You can find it with any company that sells skirt making material. Janns netcraft (Page 10) Barlows. or several others. The nice thing about making your own skirts is that you can mix materials or colors to make something that no one else has. taildancer2
I second the use of thread and glue, topped off with S.H. fingernail polish to finish. It won't dry rot like the collars will eventually. Never had a problem with the flashabou coming loose either. Good Luck
MUSKY
Look closely at baits made professionally with flashabou, such as double cowgirls. They are wrapped with thread not a band.
