question about melting down plastics

yes you can melt down old plastic . Word of caution make sure what you are melting has NO (0) Water in them. If these are used baits you are talking about there is a chance there is water in them. When water is in the plastic it will cause the plastic to boil over and cause severe burns. Yes it is doable but you must be careful.

Be careful and let me know if we can help you.

I did that with some senkos I bought off of eBay a while back that I never used, and I dont know if there was scent in them or what it was, but it stunk so bad I had to take the pyrex cup outside and open all the windows in the garage and the doors and I scrapped all the plastic. I want to say that just so you know if that happens to you, that you dont think normal "luiquid" plastic that you would buy for pouring would smell like that. The liquid plastic doesnt smell bad. I had one of my friends try to melt power bait. What a mess he had. In my opinion unless you remelt the one you know you made and they are water free I would spend the money to buy the right stuff instead of remelting plastic. I have remelted my own senkos and I spend more time screwing with the recipe to get the same fall rate that to me its not worth it. I just remelt them for frogs or beavers.
