I'm wanting to pour some heads using a screwlock instead of using the weedguard. Will this work, I can't see why not, hoping someone else has did it before. dawgfish Posted January 29, 2009 Report Share Posted January 29, 2009 Yes, it does work. I pour 1/4oz shakey heads using a Do-It mold and replace the weedgaurd with a screw loc. I put the round section of a drill bit inside the screw loc when I pour so the lead will be flush with the head. I have read here in the past about using a collar (spinnerbait or jig) to remove the barb and excess lead from the head as well. You can do a search and find it on this site. I was doing some searching and found where others were making their own screwlocks with wire. I think I'll try that, before purchasing the screwlocks. Probably alot cheaper in the long run.
