Baitman0928
I just got my anise and garlic scent in. My question is when do i add the scent and how much do i add? I was think of pouring a little of each into the plastic before i heat it, and then maybe a little more when i bag them? Am i close? Whats the best way of doing this? Bass-Boys
For Me,,, I like to add the scent just before the plastic is ready to pour,,, then also a small amount in the bags.
Richard Prager
I usually pour some scent in right before I pour also. When I demold and lay the baits out I squirt the majority of the scent on. The next day I just mix the baits around a bit and bag.
Zbass
For Me,,, I like to add the scent just before the plastic is ready to pour,,,then also a small amount in the bags. Same for me. I don't measure the amount I put in the plastic though. I just add to taste, or is it smell? You get the picture.
bhorlings
I put it in right before I pour and then again when I package them up. I measure out the amount I put in because he scent I use throws the colors off a little but it is a great scent!!!
5ohhh
This is my biggest issue ... when I add it before pouring either I had too little (still a very strong plastic smell) or add too much (plastic becomes tooooooo soft). On an average of 4oz of plastic ... what would you say is the "right amount" ... 1/4oz, 1/2oz, 1oz, etc.... Just curious ... no need to give out secret recipes. Richard Prager
When I put some in before I pour, I'm guessing it would be about one drop per ounce. You really should not be getting a strong plastic smell with or without scent. Maybe your overheating (scorching) your plastic. I personally feel that you are benefiting more by "marinating" your baits while they are setting up.
outdooradvantage
I usually add 4 drops to 4 oz of plastic before pouring, and 6 to 8 drops to bag when packing them up.
Zbass
152 and ODA, Are you guys using upperhand scent? I use a whole lot more than a drop per ounce but it is not upperhand. Just curious.
bhorlings
I use Uppperhand Scent Coffe & Anise and I use a lot more than a drop or two also. I use probably a full teaspoon per 4 oz of plastic while pouring and then a drop per bait when I shake them up before packaging them.
