saint308
For some reason the baits I have been pouring recently seem harder than normal. I am doing everything the same as I always have. Could it be that colder air is making them harder? I sent a sample to customer and he wants them softer, but I am scared that what seems perfect now will be really soft when the temps warm up. Any suggestions or thoughts? Thanks. Saint. bhorlings
Have you changed anything lately? Plastic type, salt, hardener, softener, scent? Are you making sure your plastic is shaken up enough? Just some thoughts.
saint308
The only other thing I can think of is the 5 gallon jug is really low. This is the last bit of this plastic that I have. I wonder if the remainder is not the normal mixture? Saint.
redg8r
Thats likely your problem.. the hardener settles, so if your low, the remainder has excess hardener in it from insufficient mixing over time. Softener should help.

pastorshane
I put my 5 gallons into seperate gallon jugs so I can shake them up easier. Just shake it up well before seperating it.
bhorlings
I have had the same issue before too. Just need to make sure you shake the heck out of it before using it. Some people use a drill with an attachment to make sure it is really stirred well.
Bountiful Waters
Sounds like you need to go ahead and add some fresh plastic to it as well. It may not matter how well you mix it right now, the solids are what's left in the plastic. Add fresh plastic, then mix well. You probably need to do a 50/50 with it to get it to even out.
