doublest
Hi yall. Ran across this site by accident, I love fishing and most anything associated with it. Eleven years ago I went in for a routine quad bypass procedure, and came out with my left side mostly paralyzed. It pretty well retarded my ability to get around to fish, but not entirely . I still get to go to Canada every year and get to fish off a pontoon boat. Still get a rush. 30 years ago I took a crack at building a rod, and thoroughly enjoyed it. That is ho I ran across TU I stopped by this site took a look and am totally fascinated at the skills and ideas displayed here. I hope to be maybe a smidgen at being able to acquire some of these skills, even though I only have full use of one arm, and part of the other, I have a couple of projects in mind. As I progress in knowledge and skill I hope to create something worthy of mention on this great site.I'm an old codger by years but in spite of it all I still feel pretty young. Zbass
Welcome. I won't warn you that this "hobby" is dangerously addicting. I think you may already know that. The people here are more than willing to help, so ask questions. Someone will answer them. I pour plastics so not too knowledgable on rod building. there are plenty here that are though. Maybe post a pic of your work in the gallery so we can admire your craftsmanship. Good luck! Zbass
cadman
I among others welcome you to the site. Based on what you said, you are limited to what you can do, but don't let that stop you from learning, enjoying the knowledge and the fun here. The guys here are great and willing to share their knowledge with you. If you are interested in painting jigs or spinnerbaits, you are more than welcome to PM me. I can show you some of my work via e-mail, and can get you started painting jigs. Don't be afraid to ask questions. That's how we all learn. I hang around the wirebait section. BTW welcome aboard. I am practically new here myself, so much so that I can barely navigate the site no less build a lure yet ! But what I can tell you is that there is a really great group of people here that are more than willing to take a minute or two to help out a beginner.
