gone2long
Looking into buying a Lee production pot anybody using one, how is it for 2 piece molds. Also looking to buy 5 gallons of plastisol, besides the settling issue does it have a shelf life? I'm only pouring for my own needs. jimcline
I've had a Lee plastic pot and didn't really care for it. If I were you I look into either making or buying a Presto pouring pot. You can get all the info you need right here on TU. As far as plastic it'll last a long time. Just make sure you mix it well before you pour it. If you let it sit for an extended period you may get some seperation so it's important to stir it up really well. My personal preference would be Calhoun's. But seriously, if you want to get serious about pouring plastic please look into a Presto pot, you won't be sorry, Good luck, JIM
gone2long
Hey Jim thanks for the speedy response, I just googled presto and found listings for several units, is this pot the same as the wax melter? if so seemed pretty resonable but looks like I may need to ad a smaller spigot to acheive better pour control. I guess my next question would be should I make a stir motor to keep salt, sand, glitter and the like suspended prior to pouring looks easy enough. Thanks, Chris
Zbass
There is a lot of info on presto pots on here as far as building one yourself. Also there are a couple of guys that sell some too. Bearsbaits is one of them. You can make one easy enough. It is different than a wax melter.
jimcline
Yes, you absolutely want a stirring motor and paddle with a presto. I have one from Bears and it works great. He also sells the entire pot and stirring setup. My suggestion is to get at least the stirrer from him. He's also now offering a stainless steel paddle for easier clean up. No to mention he sells plastic, molds, glitter and color. There are several others on here that you can get your supplies from as well. Good luck, JIM
