longhorn
I'm landlocked by 30 mph wind today and was looking for an image of a bluegill when I found this site. It has some of the best photos I've found and should be a good reference to actual fish colors. nova
You're right about that Longhorn. That's the best I've ever seen, and I've spent hours looking on the net for just such a page. Thanks. www.novalures.com

Piscivorous Pike
Here is one that is scientifically based, can be extremely complexed to use but you can pull a lot of photos from it, not quite fifty thousand pictures! (12/2008) ( 31100 Species, 276100 Common names, 47300 Pictures, 42600 References, 1650 Collaborators, 33 million Hits/month ) Fish: Search FishBase I guess this is the actual index page: FishBase : A Global Information System on Fishes I recently read a book written by a Mepps designer about color and light changes at depth, something that can help paint up a lure. FishBase offers an "at depth" view modification to many of its photos. That feature can surely help in painting out lures. It depicts the photo as what would appear under the water.
