RCaillouet
What is a good way to slow the rise rate of plastic crankbaits? Currently using Bandit 200 series that I have repainted to colors I like to use. Problem is the things rise very quickly and I need to get them to rise just a little slower. I merely just want to keep them closer to the cover that I am banging them on when I stop my retrieve. Thanks, Reggie
A-Mac
Before repainting, I would experiment with a few by drilling a small hole in the bottom of one of the rattle chambers. I would probably work with the middle main chamber. After drilling a small hole, I would insert X number of lead shot. Slap a piece of electrical tape over the hole and experiment in a bath tub until you get the desired rise rate. Once you get the desired rate, I would get some 1 minute epoxy and patch the hole. Sand once the epoxy has cured and you should be ready to paint. That is how I would go about it anyways.
Vodkaman
A couple of extra top coats and/or next size hooks might work. But A-Macs suggestion is probably best. Dave
Mountain Man 26
Wrap "Suspend Strips", by Storm, one at a time around the shank of the front treble (just under the eye) and test it in a bucket until you have the rate of rise of suspension you desire. You will be suprised how few it will take. You can cut small pieces as needed to add.
