strictly esox
I did a search on this topic and found out about Stamina and Hagens. So far Hagens had the best price at $140.00 per 1000 in the .092 wire x 1 1/8 stem in stainless. I'm currently paying $180.00 per 1000 from a local tackle supply store. Does anyone have a contact I could check out that might be even cheaper? Thanks, John
strictly esox
I also found jannsnetcraft and barlows. Barlows had a great price but eyes are nickle plated brass and .072 wire. I'm thinking these are to lite for musky. I want to cut cost not corners. Does anyone have an opinion on these that could change my mind? Does anyone have a contact I could check out that might be even cheaper? Thanks, John Here's a way to make HEAVY DUTY hangers and eyes. 308 SS Tig wire works really well. Here's how I make hangers and ties from SS welding rods . I find the Rods stiffer than the SS wire that comes on rolls and is available at any welding supply store. 1. I put a mark on my round nose pliers for consistency and bend a loop, there. Then I "overbend the wire to make a more circular loop. 2. Cut the wire evenly. 3. Place the ends of the wire in a vise grip. 4.Clamp the loop with a flat pliers. 5. Twist, counter clockwise. Now you're done! 6. Here are a couple, one .045" and the other .062 Just drill a hole large enough to accept the twisted wire, fill it with 5 min epoxy, wipe the overflow with alcohol and you'll have a bullet proof tie or eye.
