dsmblack
Looking to pour some floating worms. Not something that will stand off the bottom on a shakey head, but one that is actually called a floating worm. Looking for a good mold. I think most are around 6 1.2 or 7 in long. I am looking at the ones from Lurecraft. Anyone got any suggestions as to which mold makes a good one? something like this one from BPS. JDBaits
I just got the 7" spadetail from del along with some floating plastic which should make a killer floating worm. The square head should help with line twist while the spade tail and round body should have some great action simmular to gamblers floating worm. here is the worm the mold produces:
GB GONE
Del's diamond tail in 6.25" or better is PERFECT!!!! Used them all last summer with many fish to show!! Add float bubbles and these babies will support a 4/0 wide gap EWG with no sweat! Bubblegum and lime green were big winners for me! Bountiful Waters
Either one of the above worms would be great. I keep a pan of water on the bench for burn relief (I learned the hard way:eek:) and to test floating lures. It does not take much floater to float a worm with hook. JDBaits
Dave, I used about 3 dashes of Del's floating plastic in about 4oz of plastisol today and it gave me a worm that just about floated a 3/0 J-bend hook. Also I did not mix the floating plastic, I just used my dash measure to scoop the bubbles off of the top out of the container. Doubling this amount will most likely produce a worm that floats like a cork! Edited February 20, 2009 by JDBaits
