yellowdawg
anyone use these instead of deer tails? Been working on an idea and was wondering if anyone has tried it. I fish for stripers trolling at 1 to 2 mph.
braveviper
I wondered the same thing, tying bucktails is a lot of work and a silicone skirt is a quick fix. I thought the same thing you did and tried skirts on bucktails(it just doesnt look right to me) I admit I have yet to actually fish with one but im sure it will work. Foo G
When you eliminate the deer hair, doesn't it cease to be a "bucktail"? Edited February 21, 2009 by Foo G

jimcline
Even if it isn't really a bucktail anymore, it's still a pretty good lure. I made some with silicone skirts, basically just big inlines for smallmouth and they came out really great. Give it a try, JIM

Jig Man
You might try craft hair. It is easier to work with than deer hair and has a lot more action.
