sim
So, I recently picked up a Hagen's Wire bender, (yesterday in fact) - and have mostly figured out how to make a spinnerbait form and the little spinners.... other than learning how to ruin straight wire (which is quite easy) - I'm having trouble learning how to make more complex things - Like a twisted wire spinnerbait form - for example. I also want to be able to make a 'clasp' of sorts, similar to what you would find on a 'Beatle Spin'. Are there any good sites with instructions/diagrams on how to make more shapes with it? Also, is the bulk wire as easy to use? I bought a bunch of straight wire shafts to start with...

Wire Form Tools - Hagen's Fishing Tackle | Lure Manufacturer yeah, those videos show only the bare basic spinner - not even a spinnerbait form! I'm hoping there are better resources out there! Thanks!

Tony Maxwell
Janns Netcraft has a "Tackle Tricks with Wire" book for $6.95 that is a real bargain. A lot of old fashioned lure information, but also a lot of information that will assist you in making new style lures also. It is on page 42 in the 09 catalog. Fatman
Sim You can use the wire bender to make the beetle spin forms up to a point, you can make the loop where you tie your line and you can make the loop that you put the jig on the rest you have to use needle nose pliers. I use a hand wire former for making them and also an old screwdriver handle with two nails driven into it close together does the same thing as the bender. I've been making the forms for years and it's amazing once you get it down how many you can turn out in a few hours watching TV. The wire forming book is great from Janns Netcraft, I got the original one when I bought the Netcraft wire bender, which I still use.
